Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards MP has announced a grant of $50,000 to go towards the establishment of a mobile vet clinic through the Labor Government’s Living Local Fund

Regional Community Vet Clinic (RCVC) will establish a relocatable vet clinic on Mount Alexander Shire Council land adjacent to Campbell's Creek Community Centre.

Free or low‑cost vet treatments will be provided, with the assistance of skilled volunteers, to the companion animals of financially disadvantaged members of the community in regional Victoria.

“We’re doing what matters by investing in infrastructure that our local communities need to enjoy the services they deserve," Ms Edwards said.

“Our suburbs and regions are great places to live, work and play and we’re making sure they stay that way.

“It’s great to see so many new projects like our Regional Community Vet Clinic on the way that will help our regions – when we our regions do well, the whole of Victoria benefits.”

“We are determined to continue our record investment in regional Victoria to build social and community connection through projects like our community vet clinic.”

More than 400 projects across the state will be supported through the Fund, with $15 million available for suburban projects and another $5 million for the regions.

Local councils and community organisations have received grants of up to $200,000 for upgrades to shopping strips, playgrounds, community gardens and public art projects, or to buy new equipment or carry out minor refurbishment works.

From playground upgrades in Pakenham to the creation of an Aboriginal community art gallery in Ballarat, the Living Local Fund is supporting a wealth of diverse and important locally led projects right across Victoria.

The Living Local Fund is part of the Government’s Our Suburbs: Living Local and Our Regions: Living Local Initiatives.
