The Allan Labor Government is making sure Victorians get the care they need – for free, close to home.
Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today visited Dhelkaya Health’s Castlemaine campus to announce more than $1 million for vital laparoscopy equipment and facility upgrades.
“This vital health infrastructure funding is backing Castlemaine locals to get the care they need without having to travel.” Said Ms Edwards
This equipment is used to diagnose various conditions including endometriosis.
With laparoscopies making up 13 per cent of the hospital’s surgical procedures, this investment will mean more free care, close to home.
Funded through the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF), Labor is also supporting Dhelkaya Health to plan and deliver more acute care services.
This builds on other RHIF investments at the hospital which have upgraded surgery equipment, patient hoists and tracking systems for faster, easier care delivery.
The fund supports a wide range of vital projects across regional Victoria to boost quality and capacity.
As the largest health grants program in Victoria’s history, RHIF projects also create hundreds of local jobs to attract and retain a highly skilled local workforce.
This is all about making sure regional Victorians can access high quality care for free no matter where they live.
Under Jess Wilson’s Liberals – there will only be cuts to the health services Victorians rely on.
