The Allan Labor Government is backing community sport in Maiden Gully with funding for a new five-wicket cricket net training facility at Marist College Bendigo.

Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards today joined representatives from City of Greater Bendigo and Maiden Gully Marist Cricket Club to announce $323,385 from the Allan Labor Government’s 2025/2026 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund towards the project.

“Congratulations to everyone involved in this exciting project for Maiden Gully - this boost will go a long way to support the growing number of people in Maiden Gully keen to get involved in cricket.”

“It’s a great example of how the Allan Labor Government is making sport and recreation more accessible, welcoming and inclusive for all Victorians.” Said Ms Edwards

The $603,385 development is also supported with funding from City of Greater Bendigo, Maiden Gully Marist Cricket Club and Cricket Australia.

It will be constructed at Marist College Bendigo as part of the Joint Use Agreement between Marist College Bendigo and Greater Bendigo City Council.

The project will feature a synthetic surface and power supply, supports club, school and community growth in cricket participation and follows significant community advocacy.

Once complete, Maiden Gully Marist Cricket Club will be based at the new facility.
